Interim service – for cars that do a lot of miles, or as a half-way check between full services. It covers the oil and filter plus the key safety checks.
Full service – the yearly service most cars need. Everything in the interim service plus a new air filter and a proper look at the steering, suspension, exhaust, belts and hoses.
Major service – every two years or 24,000 miles. Adds the cabin filter, spark plugs or fuel filter when due, a brake fluid test, and a road test with a written report.
A real example: we recently carried out a full service on a 2014 Volvo XC60, including a new air filter.
